Your Guide

I, Matt Liebel will be your Lake Sakakawea fishing guide. I have been fishing ever since I was able to hold a rod. I have been operating a boat on Lake Sakakawea for over 14 years. During the school year I'm an 8th grade science teacher, I also coach golf and basketball, and I officiate basketball and football.

Family

My family is very important to me. I grew up in Watford City with 3 younger brothers. Growing up in the of western North Dakota has given me a true love of the outdoors. And I look forward to serving you as your Williston Area Fising Guide.

2011 Governors Cup Champions

Tory Hill and I were lucky enough to win the 2011 North Dakota Governors Cup. I have also won the 2012 & 2010 Catch for a Cure Ice Fishing Tournament, 2009 4Bears Casino Cup, and the 2007 SW Angler Walleye Tournament all on beautiful Lake Sakakawea.

Ice Fishing

Lake Sakakawea also provides some great ice fishing during the winter months. I ice fish as much as possible each winter. As of right now, I don't offer guide services for ice fishing, but am looking to expand to offer a good ice fishing experience in the future

Hunting

I also enjoy hunting. North Dakota offers great pheasant, deer and turkey hunting!
