The bite is picking up again on the west end of Lake Sakakawea, and we’re seeing more consistency as we head into the heart of summer!

Fish location is still a bit day-to-day—some mornings we’re finding walleyes shallow in 8–12 feet, especially early or with some wind, and other days they’ve slid out deeper into 18–25+. The key is to trust your electronics and don’t be afraid to cover water. If you’re marking fish, stick with it and change up your approach until they respond.
Presentation-wise, there’s no silver bullet—spinners, slow death rigs, crankbaits, jig raps and jigs/plastics are all producing depending on conditions. Some days they want it moving, other days it’s a subtle presentation that gets it done. Be flexible and dial in what they want that day.

The west end is coming alive again—now’s a great time to book your trip and get in on the action.
